A library, not a campaign

Advertising stops the day you stop paying. A video keeps being found for years. That difference is the whole argument for building a channel.

Choose 5 or 10 videos a month and finish the year with a content library deep enough to rank, recommend and monetise.

Potential upside
1 viral video
can reach a million views

Channels in these niches typically see $5,000–$7,000 in ad revenue from a million monetised views. One strong performer can cover a year of production and lift the performance of everything around it.

Why the library compounds

A social post has a lifespan measured in hours. A YouTube video is indexed, searchable and recommendable indefinitely. Videos published in your first month can still be earning views in your third year, which means each upload adds to a base rather than replacing it.

The effect is not linear. A deeper library gives YouTube more chances to recommend you, more entry points from search, and more places for a new viewer to go next. Channels usually feel slow for months and then move quickly — that shape is normal, and it's why stopping at month four is the most common mistake in this category.

Where the revenue comes from

  • Ad revenue once you're in the YouTube Partner Program.
  • Sponsorships, which become available well before most people expect.
  • Affiliate links, particularly in explainer and educational niches.
  • Your own products later, if you want them — a channel is an audience you own access to.

What monetisation actually requires

The YouTube Partner Program has a published threshold: 1,000 subscribers, plus either 4,000 valid public watch hours in twelve months or 10 million Shorts views in ninety days. You also need to be in an eligible country with an AdSense account and no active Community Guidelines strikes.

How long that takes depends on the niche, the topics, the thumbnails and a degree of luck. Consistent uploading is the one variable you can control, and it's the reason we sell a monthly schedule rather than one-off videos.

An honest note on the numbers

The $5,000–$7,000 figure above is a range commonly reported for a million monetised views in these niches. It's a reference point, not a forecast. RPM varies enormously by topic, audience country and time of year, and some channels never reach a million views on any video. Treat any studio that promises you a number with suspicion — including this one, if we ever do.
